Melissa A. Hackett is a Creative Arts and Design Instructor at Mahoning County Career & Technical Center in Canfield, Ohio, where she has taught since 1992. She delivers a two-year program in visual design, digital media arts, and advertising, blending traditional art foundations with industry-standard technologies including Adobe Creative Cloud and Procreate. She also maintains program articulation with Youngstown State University.

Hackett has worked as a freelance graphic designer since 1989, creating print and digital materials for a diverse range of clients. Her experience includes teaching adult education in computer graphics and serving as an adjunct professor at Youngstown State University.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University and a State of Ohio Professional A Certification in Commercial Art and Graphic Communications. An active leader in education and the arts, she has contributed to state curriculum writing teams, presented at professional conferences, and served as President of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

Her artwork has been recognized with awards from the YWCA Women’s Artist Show (2024, 2025) and selection into the Butler Institute of American Art Area Artist Annual exhibitions (2024, 2025).
